Diversity Peer Educator Description & Requirements
The Diversity Peer Educator (DPE) Program offers students of many academic disciplines, cultures, backgrounds, and interests an increased leadership credential in multicultural education. Participants engage in an immersive process on the foundations of multiculturalism, cultural competency and social justice work, as well as application of learned skills to daily life experiences. The DPE program provides an opportunity for students to become active participants in ally-ship and to become a part of a community of learners that support understanding, respect, and appreciation for all people. Students are invited to apply each Fall and Spring semester. DPE participants will also be able to fulfill 小猪视频 Core Curriculum Essential Learning Outcome for Diversity & Cultural Awareness (DCA).

- enhance their leadership training and skills through various training and conference opportunities聽
- gain valuable skills in public speaking, facilitation, group development, and working with diverse populations聽
- form relationships with the Office of Multicultural Affairs staff and other University staff and administrators聽
- better 小猪视频 community by engaging the campus in purposeful dialogue to promote inclusivity
- help facilitate trainings and collaborative programs with other campus offices such as Student Activities & Leadership and Residence Life

Applicants must...聽
- have a minimum of a 2.500 GPA and be in good judicial standing聽
- enrolled at UML in the Fall semester聽
- be able to attend FULL TWO DAY training dates scheduled for:聽
- Day 1: Friday, October 20th, 2-7 p.m., University Crossing 490聽
- Day 2: Saturday, October 21st, 10-4 p.m., University Crossing 260 (Moloney)聽
- Support as many of the Office of Multicultural Affairs programs as possible
