You鈥檒l learn how to think independently, design research, evaluate analytical methods and assess scientific literature as well as develop competencies in administration and management. All of these skills combined provide a pathway to a dynamic career in research, healthcare and biotechnology.

Please note: Completion of this graduate program does not qualify students to sit for the national certification examination in Medical Laboratory Sciences / Medical Technology offered by the American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP) Board of Certification.

Applied Biomedical Sciences Curriculum

On-Campus: The Master of Science (M.S.) in Applied Biomedical Sciences program, offered fully on campus, is intended for professionals and recent graduates who want to gain practical, hands-on experience with current and emerging laboratory techniques.

Online: The , is intended for professionals working in hospitals, pharmaceutical industry, biotech and life sciences who want to move forward in their careers as laboratory managers.

*Research experience can also be obtained at the university or other research centers. Given the number of full time faculty in the department, the university will assist the Department of Biomedical and Nutritional Sciences and the students with arranging corporate internships. To be eligible for the Professional Internship, students will be required to have 1) completed a minimum of 12.0 credits of STEM courses, 2) completed a minimum of 6.0 credits of PLUS courses, 3) attained an overall minimum GPA of 3.000 and 4) department permission.

All Professional Internships require department faculty supervision. Students should register for聽MLSC.7700聽during the final semester of internship participation.
