Christopher Ingemi '18, '19
Civil & Environmental Engineering
A former carpenter sidelined by the recession, Christopher Ingemi went back to school at Middlesex Community College and then transferred to UML. Now, thanks to his job in a lab, he鈥檚 completed his master鈥檚 in civil engineering and found a great job as a bridge designer.
Because I had worked in construction, civil engineering seemed like a natural fit.

Plastics Engineering
Jack Sullivan is gaining hands-on experience through co-ops, research and teaching that is preparing him to design more sustainable solutions for the plastics industry.
I figured I might as well do what the school鈥檚 best at, which is plastics engineering.
Jessica Amedee '18, '20
Public Administration
Jessica Amedee interned at the Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce as the university鈥檚 first Civic Action Project fellow. The program for UMass graduate students in public policy and related fields introduced her to a network of inspiring professionals.
I met a number of people I would be able to reach out to. I also met great people from the other UMass campuses.

Mechanical Engineering
Thanks to professional co-ops at New Balance and Teradyne, mechanical engineering major Matt Macioci has designs on a future career working with complex machinery.
If someone had told me when I was a freshman that I鈥檇 be working at New Balance in 2-3 years, I wouldn鈥檛 have believed it. It鈥檚 amazing what I鈥檝e experienced here.

Andrew Sciascia鈥檚 studies in political science and homeland security are combining with his student newspaper experience to prepare him for a career as a political analyst.
